Patient KS3 Maths tutoring

Build a strong foundation for success throughout secondary school

Why start tutoring at KS3?

Families typically get in touch when they feel a student who loved maths in primary school, isn't enjoying it as much in secondary school. For lots of reasons maths can feel more challenging in secondary school, and it's great to work with students to restore their confidence and help them navigate their new environment before they become disillusioned, or lose faith in their ability to succeed. Missing just one concept can make subsequent topics seem overwhelming, so it's important to step in before that gets out of hand. Working one to one provides plenty of opportunities for students to succeed, and once the confidence comes back, so does their enjoyment of the subject.

Early intervention makes a real difference. By identifying and addressing gaps in understanding now, we can ensure your child has the solid foundation they need for GCSE and beyond.

  • Aligned with your school's scheme of work
  • Identifies and fills gaps in understanding
  • Builds confidence and problem-solving skills
  • Interactive tools make lessons engaging and easy to follow

What does a typical session look like?

Each lesson is delivered live via video call using interactive tools — a shared whiteboard, on-screen graphing, and digital geometry toolkits. I align sessions with your school's curriculum so we can reinforce classroom learning and revisit topics at optimal times for retention.

Students join from home on a laptop or tablet, following along on screen while working through problems on paper alongside me.

Pricing

KS3 maths tutoring is £70/hour. As with all our sessions, the first introductory session is free and we encourage you to check in after each subsequent lesson to make sure it's the right fit for you. If at any point it doesn't feel like the right fit, we're happy to reevaluate. You're never tied in, and we think it's critical you find a tutor that you trust over the long term.

Lessons are £70/hour. The free intro session lets you see if it's the right fit before committing.

Key Stage 3 covers Years 7, 8, and 9 — the first three years of secondary school.

Not at all. In fact, KS3 is the ideal time to start. Building a strong foundation now prevents gaps from compounding and makes the transition to GCSE much smoother.

I recommend once a week. A regular weekly session helps reinforce school learning and builds steady progress.

Just a laptop (or tablet) and pen and paper. I provide everything else — all the digital tools, resources, and lesson materials are on my end.
