Expert IB Maths tutoring, online
Analysis & Approaches or Applications & Interpretation — covered at every level.
Why choose one-to-one IB Maths tutoring?
The IB Mathematics curriculum is rigorous and uniquely structured. Whether your child is studying Analysis & Approaches or Applications & Interpretation, the demands are high — and the internal assessment adds an extra layer of complexity that most students haven't encountered before.
One-to-one tutoring gives IB students the focused support they need to master challenging content, build exam technique, and produce a strong IA. I tailor every session to the specific course, level, and areas where the student needs the most help.
- Covers both IB Maths courses at Standard and Higher Level
- Support with the Internal Assessment (IA) from topic selection to write-up
- Exam technique for IB-style questions (including Paper 1 non-calculator)
- Interactive sessions with graphing software, shared whiteboards, and calculator guidance
What topics are covered?
IB Mathematics covers a broad range of topics depending on the course:
- Number & Algebra: sequences, series, logs, complex numbers (HL)
- Functions: transformations, polynomials, rational functions
- Geometry & Trigonometry: trig identities, vectors, circular functions
- Statistics & Probability: distributions, hypothesis testing, Bayes' theorem
- Calculus: differentiation, integration, differential equations (HL)
For Applications & Interpretation, there is additional emphasis on modelling, statistics, and the use of technology. For Analysis & Approaches, the focus shifts toward pure mathematics and proof.
What does a typical session look like?
Each lesson is delivered live via video call using interactive tools — a shared whiteboard, on-screen graphing, and digital geometry toolkits. I align sessions with your school's curriculum so we can reinforce classroom learning and revisit topics at optimal times for retention.
Students join from home on a laptop or tablet, following along on screen while working through problems on paper alongside me.
Pricing
IB Maths tutoring is £80/hour. As with all our sessions, the first introductory session is free and we encourage you to check in after each subsequent lesson to make sure it's the right fit for you. If at any point it doesn't feel like the right fit, we're happy to reevaluate. You're never tied in, and we think it's critical you find a tutor that you trust over the long term.
I cover both Mathematics: Analysis & Approaches (AA) and Mathematics: Applications & Interpretation (AI) at both Standard Level (SL) and Higher Level (HL).
Absolutely. The IA is a significant part of your grade and many students find it daunting. I help with choosing a suitable topic, structuring the exploration, and refining the mathematical content and presentation.
IB Maths tutoring is £80/hour, the same as A-Level. The free intro session is exactly that — free — so you can see if it's the right fit before committing.
Yes. I help students build confidence with non-calculator techniques for Paper 1, and develop strong GDC (graphing calculator) skills for Paper 2. We practise with past papers and exam-style questions throughout.
The IB offers two distinct courses rather than one, and includes an Internal Assessment. The HL courses cover similar depth to A-Level but with a broader range of topics and a strong emphasis on mathematical exploration and communication.
