Financial literacy tutoring
Practical money skills for life.
Why financial literacy matters
Understanding money is one of the most valuable life skills, yet it's rarely taught well in schools. I teach financial literacy with a focus on budgeting, saving, understanding credit, and making informed financial decisions.
My approach is interactive and hands-on, engaging students with real-world scenarios to help them build confidence and competence in managing personal finances. Whether you're a young person preparing for independence or an adult looking to improve your financial skills, I can help.
- Budgeting, saving, and spending plans
- Understanding credit, debt, and interest
- Tax, pensions, and financial planning basics
- Real-world scenarios and practical exercises
Qualifications covered
I support students working towards a range of financial literacy qualifications, including:
- Young Enterprise Financial Education Qualifications (FEQs)
- AQA Personal and Social Education (PSE) Financial Skills
- London Institute of Banking & Finance (LIBF) Personal Finance Qualifications (PFQs)
- Duke of Edinburgh financial modules
- Institute of Financial Studies (IFS) certificates
What does a typical session look like?
Each lesson is delivered live via video call using interactive tools — a shared whiteboard, on-screen graphing, and digital geometry toolkits. I align sessions with your goals and qualification requirements so we can build skills systematically and revisit topics at optimal times for retention.
Students join from home on a laptop or tablet, following along on screen while working through problems on paper alongside me.
Pricing
Financial literacy tutoring is £70/hour. As with all our sessions, the first introductory session is free and we encourage you to check in after each subsequent lesson to make sure it's the right fit for you. If at any point it doesn't feel like the right fit, we're happy to reevaluate. You're never tied in, and we think it's critical you find a tutor that you trust over the long term.
