Expert GCSE Maths tutoring, online
Structured one-to-one sessions for Years 10-11.
Why choose one-to-one GCSE tutoring?
The GCSE years are crucial for setting the stage for future academic and career opportunities. Many students find that classroom teaching alone isn't enough — gaps in understanding build up over time, and without targeted support they can become overwhelming.
One-to-one tutoring gives your child dedicated attention, tailored explanations, and the space to ask questions without pressure. I combine a mix of textbooks, online resources, and practice exams specific to your exam board to build genuine understanding. Crucially, we don't rush into exam practice. My view is that exam practice is an important part of managing the exam environment, but it's certainly not the best way to build a robust understanding of maths. Ultimately, fluency is achieved through mastery of topics in the right order, which requires a thoughtful, structured approach. For a student, identifying the right structure is no easy task, and by Year 10 and 11 there are often significant gaps right across the syllabus. I have a couple of system I've developed to identify those gaps and help students be strategic about what to cover in the last 18, 12, and 6 months before their exams.
- Tailored to your exam board (AQA, Edexcel, OCR)
- Weekly structured sessions that reinforce school learning
- Focus on understanding the 'why', not just memorising methods
- Interactive sessions with graphing tools and digital whiteboards
What does a typical session look like?
Each lesson is delivered via Google Meet. Students join from home on a laptop or tablet, and follow along on screen while working through problems on paper alongside me. I use a professional setup including a graphics tablet for handwritten working, interactive geometry software, and calculator emulators.
Sessions are fully tailored — we'll work through your specific exam board content, revisit topics you're finding tricky, and build fluency through targeted practice.
Pricing
GCSE maths tutoring is £70/hour. As with all our sessions, the first introductory session is free and we encourage you to check in after each subsequent lesson to make sure it's the right fit for you. If at any point it doesn't feel like the right fit, we're happy to reevaluate. You're never tied in, and we think it's critical you find a tutor that you trust over the long term.

I cover all major GCSE exam boards including AQA, Edexcel, and OCR. Sessions are tailored to your specific syllabus.
I recommend once a week. A weekly check-in clears obstacles, provides structure, and keeps motivation high. For exam preparation, some students benefit from a short burst of more intensive sessions.
The earlier the better. Starting in Year 10 gives us ample time to strengthen core skills and tackle challenging topics without rushing. That said, it's never too late — even a focused 12-week programme before exams can make a significant difference.
Just a laptop (or tablet) and pen and paper. I provide everything else — all the digital tools, resources, and lesson materials are on my end.
