Maths tutoring for adult learners
Flexible, supportive sessions for personal and professional development.
Maths doesn't have an age limit
Many adults return to maths with specific goals — passing a qualification, boosting workplace numeracy, or building the confidence they never had at school. Whatever your reason, I provide flexible and supportive tutoring tailored to your needs.
My lessons cover foundational topics and practical applications, using real-world examples and interactive methods to build confidence and competence. Understanding that adult learners often juggle multiple responsibilities, I offer flexible scheduling and a supportive learning atmosphere.
- Functional Skills (Entry Level to Level 2)
- Numeracy for workplace requirements
- Refresher courses for further education
- Flexible scheduling around your commitments
Qualifications covered
I support students working towards a range of adult numeracy qualifications, including:
- Functional Skills Mathematics (Entry Level 1-3, Level 1, Level 2)
- GCSE Maths (for adult resitters)
- Workplace numeracy assessments
- Access to Higher Education preparation
What does a typical session look like?
Each lesson is delivered live via video call using interactive tools — a shared whiteboard, on-screen graphing, and digital geometry toolkits. I align sessions with your goals and qualification requirements so we can build skills systematically and revisit topics at optimal times for retention.
Students join from home on a laptop or tablet, following along on screen while working through problems on paper alongside me.
Pricing
Adult maths tutoring is £70/hour. As with all our sessions, the first introductory session is free and we encourage you to check in after each subsequent lesson to make sure it's the right fit for you. If at any point it doesn't feel like the right fit, we're happy to reevaluate. You're never tied in, and we think it's critical you find a tutor that you trust over the long term.
