Hi, I'm Ben.
I started tutoring full-time after leaving my role as headteacher of the World Class Academy, an international secondary school for aspiring kiteboarding athletes.
I believe that academic success is possible for everyone with the right support, and I love teaching students that if they devote time and attention to something, with the right support, they will see progress.
Not only does this help them pass their next math qualification, but they carry that confidence with them into whatever they choose to do next.
A little bit more about me.
I qualified as a (very nervous) classroom teacher in 2008 and quickly learned how powerful a positive learning experience can be—not just in mastering a subject but in building confidence to take on new challenges. I love math (and learning in general), but even more I love helping people realise what they can achieve with time and focus. Whether you’re a math enthusiast or someone who’s convinced you “just can’t do it,” I’m here to help.
I’ve taught in a wide range of settings—state and private schools, classrooms and tuition centers, in the UK and abroad. One highlight was serving as program director for the World Class Academy, running the world’s only international high school for aspiring kiteboarders. Working so closely with students and teachers (on the beach, no less!) reminded me how much fun it is to learn and grow.
Over the past 15+ years I’ve taught everyone from primary pupils to adult learners in subjects ranging from entrance exams (11+, 13+, GCSE, A-level, IB, university modules) to professional qualifications and numeracy skills. I’ve worked with students around the world, supported home-educated learners, and gained extensive experience with SEN students, including those with ADHD, dyscalculia, and autism. More recently, I’ve built a team of tutors to support my growing tutoring business.
Outside the classroom, I’m usually outdoors—climbing, paragliding, or kitesurfing—and often teaching friends and family to join in the adventure.
